1980
For 1980, Chevrolet went big and bold with their Spyder package.  The 2-package options (Z01 & Z02) available the previous years were combined into 1 Spyder Equipment Package (RPO Z29).  Design changes from '79 include a new 2-piece body-colour front air dam, new Spyder hood decal, wide Spyder striping running the length of the car and across the back and a body-colour rear spoiler Spyder decal running the width of the car.  Much of the rest of the package was the same as in previous years as seen from the list below.
- BR70-13 Steel Belted Radial Raised White Letter Tires
- Black painted Rally II wheels with bright trim rings and caps
- Sport Suspension includes rear stabilizer bar
- Black front and rear bumper rub strips
- Black headlight bezels/frames and surrounds
- Black grille, louvers and parking light openings
- Black windshield, belt, side and rear window moldings
- Black painted body sill
- Black door and center B-pillar louvers
- Black painted rear end panel, tail light frames and surrounds
- Black sport mirrors (LH remote, RH manual)
- Red Spyder header and rear lock cover emblems
- Gold Spyder identification on Horn Button
The diagram at left, taken from Chevrolet's 1980 Car Value Guide shows the locations of the various Spyder decals as well as a brief description of each.  At the bottom is a colour chart showing the 5 colour options available; black, gold, red, silver and blue.  These colour options were keyed to interior and exterior colour choices (see diagram below).
