Oldsmobile came out with another special edition H-Body in 1978 with the unveiling of the Firenza. Essentially it was a black lower bodied car with a thick red stripe running around all 4-sides and upper body could be had in white, red, silver and black. Included with the package were fender flares, front air dam and rear spoiler, body colour sport mirrors, 4-spoke steel Super-Stock III wheels with trim rings and Olds' center caps and heavy duty suspension (shocks and front & rear sway bars).
The lower half of the Starfire was painted black (regardess of the upper colour chosen) and red striping decals were featured on all 4 sides of the car with white "FIRENZA" script decals on both doors, rear spoiler and the front hood. To further accent the front and rear ends, the Firenza package used unique red front and rear bumper strips on bumpers that were painted black. The front hood also had red pin striping around a black-painted centre 'hump' with a white "FIRENZA" decal at the back of the hood. The Starfire Firenza package offered by Oldsmobile was a three year option lasting from 1978 through to the end of production of all H-Bodies in 1980.
