Although not a factory package, this Accent Kit obviously attacted enough attention that official GM press photos were taken and distributed with this accent kit installed on the Monza 2+2 (Sport Hatchback) for 1975.
This kit was designed, produced and marketed by Kay Screen Printing Inc. out of Detroit, MI. Chevrolet forwarded the information on this Accent Kit "as a matter of information only" to all its dealerships in the event they wanted to 'dress' up a few Monzas on the lot to assist sales.
For the Monza, there were 4 kits offered, a black/white imprint, a white/black imprint, a black and a white kit. They were called "spear/wrap" kits. They starting at a point on the front facia of the car, widening the further back it went, then wrapped around the back on the hatch and narrowed back to the front of the other side of the car. The wide section on the rear hatch could be ordered with or without the word "monza" as the imprint.
This accent kit was also available for the Camaro, Vega and Chevette as well as being an obvious fit for the Skyhawk and Starfire and cost $24.95.
Part numbers for the 4 Monza kits were ...
MSW-830 - Monza Spear Wrap (white/black imprint)
MSW-831 - Monza Spear Wrap (black/white imprint)
MSW-832 - Monza Spear Wrap (white)
MSW-833 - Monza Spear Wrap (black)
Of course because this is not a factory option, there is no way of knowing just how many of these kits were installed on Monzas, either by dealers or individuals.
