The Exterior Decor package (RPO ZM5), while not a flashy graphics package like so many other H-Body options, was an option that brightened-up a Monza and added some extra storage space for travelling. This package was only availabe on the Monza Coupe (1HM27 model). For looks, the package included Deluxe colour-keyed wheel covers (RPO PA3), bright wheel well opening moldings (RPO B96) and Bright window reveal moldings. For functionality, the package included a rear deck lid luggage carrier (Somewhat surprisingly, Pontiac never offered a rear deck lid luggage carrier on their Coupes). The Exterior Decor Package was available near the end of the 1979 model year and 1980 and cost the buyer $139.00.
This package happened to be an option on my very first car.
Total ZM5 production was 3,646 for 1979 and 13,897 for the 1980 model year.
