The H-Bodies had 3 different sunroof options available to them but not every model offered each one of these roof options. The first sunroof option was introduced in 1976 and was called a Sky Roof by GM. The Sky Roof is a manual sliding, tinted and reflectorized glass panel. To slide, simply turn the lock at the back of the panel, release the 2 self-locking catches at the front of the panel and slide the roof back as far as desired. This option was given an RPO Code of CF4 and for 1976 was a $195 option. The Sky Roof was offered on the Monza and Skyhawk from 1976 to 1978 and the Starfire only for 1978. The Sunbird never had this option.

The second roof option was the Vista-Vent. This was a manual flip-up single pane of tinted glass. Engaging the lock at the back of the panel allowed you to flip the back end of the sunroof up, or the entire pane of glass could be completely removed and stored in a bag that is priovided as part of the option. The Sunroof was option code RPO AD3 and was a $225 option. Pontiac offered this option for its entire model run from 1976 to 1980 but it was only an available option for the Monza, Skyhawk and Starfire for 1979 and '80.

The 3rd roof option was available only for the Buick Skyhawk, from 1976-80. This was a C06 Astroroof. Basically the entire rooftop is a tinted glass pane which does not move nor can be removed. For more info on this rare option see my C06 webpage.
