I bought (07/09/01) a bone-stock, all original white
1980 Chevrolet Monza Spyder (V.I.N. # R07AA7217723)
with 2-tone gold Spyder detailing with the original build
sheet from General Motors' Lordstown Plant in Ohio.
The car was purchased on March 25, 1980 and was
assembled on May 13, 1980 and shipped to Central
Chevrolet Oldsmobile Ltd. in London, Ontario, Canada
to it's new owner on May 14, 1980.
The Spyder has a 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic 350
automatic transmission, and is powered by the 3.8L,
231 C.I., V6 engine. The interior is Camel (tan) with the
custom cloth interior option and the body has all the
available Spyder options (RPO Z29) still on the vehicle,
including the front air dam and rear spoiler, front
Spyder emblem and rear lock Spyder emblem as well as
the Spyder steering wheel centre cap. The Monza also
came equipped with power steering and brakes, tilt steering column, tinted glass, tachometre console, rear defog, delay wipers, heavy-duty suspension and radiator, electric clock, AM radio, rear speaker and positraction.
This car was sold in June of 2005 and now resides in Florida where I know it will be well cared for and unaltered since the new owner is also a purist like myself and will be keeping the car untouched. Good Luck to it and it's new owner!!!
